Introducing a New Professional Chapter – Tel Aviv

Empowering Women. Advancing Computing.

The ACM-W Tel Aviv Chapter promotes equal opportunities for women in computing across academia and industry. We are committed to inclusion, leadership, and innovation, creating pathways for women to thrive as researchers, educators, and professionals.

Through community-building, global partnerships, and impactful events, we support a diverse and empowered computing community—locally and globally.

Our Agenda and activity:

The ACM-W Tel Aviv Chapter aims to catalyze a transformative movement in Israel’s tech landscape by bridging academia and industry to empower women from classrooms to boardrooms. With only ~36% of high-tech roles held by women—yet just ~17% in senior leadership and only 10% of startup CEO positions—there’s significant work to be done. However, with a 130% increase in women engaged in R&D over the past decade, we’re building on positive momentum and are committed to accelerating this trend. As we enter the AI era, we see an unprecedented opportunity to integrate women into emerging technological fields and shape the future of innovation. Through strategic initiatives—annual brainstorms with academic and industry stakeholders, flagship launch events, targeted workshops (AI, LinkedIn, professional development), mentoring circles, research collaborations, community projects, and awards—we will build a vibrant ecosystem that fosters networking, promotes leadership, and nurtures female talent across both academic research and industry practice. By aligning with key partners and women-in-tech forums, we will spark meaningful change and drive gender equity at every level of Israel’s tech ecosystem—from academia to industry—ensuring women are not just participants but leaders in the technological revolution ahead.
